Good afternoon everyone!

This will be slightly different post than usual, as today, Singapore turns 60.

Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate our little island more and more. When I was younger, I didn’t think much about it. In fact, I even complained (a lot) like any Singaporean, even saying I want to migrate! But as time goes on, I’ve come to appreciate the little things that make this place home.

For example, we have beautiful tropical weather here, which is great.. until you’re walking to the MRT at 2pm and feel like you’ve stepped into an oven πŸ˜‚ But I’ll still take this over shovelling snow in the middle of winter in a gloomy, cloudy day.

But if there’s one thing I’m especially grateful for, it’s the safety we have here. It’s easy to overlook until you travel somewhere that doesn’t have it. Many times, we only learn how important something is once it’s gone.

Of course, no country is perfect.. and we often think the grass is greener on the other side. But not necessarily. Sometimes, when you finally step over, you realise it’s muddy… and what you had before was already good enough.

So today, I’m just thankful for where I am, for what we have, and for the comfort of calling this place home.

Happy National Day! πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬
