Happy Thursday everyone!

Now, let me ask you this: Have you ever seen news about the stock market and felt like the world was ending… only for things to bounce back the next day?

You’re not alone.

There’s just so much of it - CNBC, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, YouTube, X… it never ends. And almost every headline feels dramatic or urgent.

“Stocks plunge on fears of recession!”“Market rallies as investors cheer Fed comments!”

One day it’s panic, the next it’s euphoria. Back and forth, every single day.

I remember this super vividly during the COVID crash.

Like many others, I was glued to the news then. I thought following every update would help me “stay ahead”. I was refreshing sites constantly, reading headlines, even stalking Trump’s Twitter to see if he tweeted something that could move the market 😅

But at some point, I started to ask myself, why can’t the media make up their mind!?

Yikes. Sounds like the world’s ending, right?

Now check out the headline just one day later, on June 12:

Okay.. Now it sounds… kinda chill?

And then a few days after that, June 15:

Bro what? Suddenly everything’s rosy again?

So what’s going on here?

I’m not saying you can’t read the news. But don’t let it mess with your head or worst still, be your guiding compass for your investing decisions. That’s a sure way to lose.

These days, I’m learning to tune out the noise. I spend more time reading up on companies I like, checking in on my portfolio, and just keeping it simple.

That’s all from me today. You don’t need to make things more complicated than they are. Sometimes the best move is to focus on what you can control, and let the rest do whatever it wants.

And always remember -

Patience builds wealth,
